Realities of Wind Energy
       Reality of Wind Energy

Do you notice the Industrial Wind Turbine at 1400 feet?
Of course you do. Once an industrial wind farm is installed ....it's impossible not to notice.  It dominates the landscape for many miles in all directions.  IWTs not only change the visual environment, but they can also negatively impact your quality of life:  Shadow flicker, pulsating low frequency turbine noise and trouble sleeping ....even though you won't sign-up for these effects, .....they may become a constant presence in your "new" life by an Industrial Wind Turbine farm.

Something Huntington County residents need to seriously consider
:  The turbines in the picture above are 400 ft tall, and the closest IWT is placed 1400 ft from the home.  How would you feel about a Wind Development Company installing Industrial Wind Turbines only 1000 ft from your home???  A full 400 ft closer than the one pictured above?  This is exactly what could happen if the current Huntington County ordinance is not rewritten to protect our citizens.  It could become an every day reality for you, and/or many of your friends and neighbors.  And it gets worse:  The IWTs being proposed for Huntington County will be 500 ft tall ....10 stories taller than the IWTs pictured above.

Do you think installation of 500 ft Industrial Wind Turbines nearby your home will negatively impact your property value?  Your quality of life?  Can these questions even be taken seriously?  (Would you like to buy a bridge?)

Finally,  if you know someone who thinks the information presented here is an exaggeration, we strongly encourage them to watch the first hand testimony given by Dave and Stephanie Hulthen, the people who actually lived in the house shown above.  Dave and Stephanie are similar to many Huntington Co residents:  They built their own home, raised their family together in it, loved where they lived and planned to live out their days there.  Together they describe their experience before and after Industrial Wind Turbines, ...what it's like to live with shadow flicker, ...the realities of turbine noise on your quality of life, ...and dealing with a wind company after the IWTs are installed.  Their story is heartbreaking to say the least, but very revealing.  It's a must watch.
